Chitwan: Significant strides have been made in the construction of bridges along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section, with efforts aimed at their completion by mid-November.

Among the 15 bridges in this crucial section, 11 are already operational, while four are currently under construction. According to Krishna Acharya, Engineer of the Western Section of the Nagdhunga-Muglin Road Project (Narayangadh-Muglin), the majority of bridges are operational except for Khahare, Namche, Kalikhola, and Tuin Khola bridges near Muglin Bazaar.

Efforts are underway to bring the two remaining bridges into operation by mid-July, with particular attention required for the construction of access roads, notably for the Khahare rivulet bridge where a high wall needs to be erected. Engineer Acharya noted that works on the Tuin Khola bridge are scheduled for completion by mid-November.

With a total of 19 bridges along the road section, constructed with support from the World Bank, delays in construction have been attributed to the necessary land preparations near the Tuin rivulet and the distribution of compensation to affected individuals in Khahare.

The improved status of roads and bridges has alleviated the recurring troubles caused by landslides during the rainy season, signifying positive advancements in enhancing transportation infrastructure in the region.
